A. The word Vastu is a Sanskrit word, the root vas means “to dwell”, live, stay, reside. It is the ancient Indian vedic origin science of constructing buildings in such a way as to Create Harmony between the panchabhootas(five elements) with other vastu factors. This is to maximize the effect of generated positive energy awarded by nature for success

Q . What is Vastu shastra?
A. Vastu is a Sanskrit word which means Vastu is a place where you live or dwell. Shastra means a text which contains knowledge or instructions. Simply put Vaastu Shastra means guidelines laid down for designing and building a structure. Vaastu Shastra is the scientific study of directions, which aims at creating equilibrium by balancing the different elements of nature and using them for the benefit of humans. There is a great importance of Vaastu shastra in our life, as it paves way for happiness and prosperity to knock our doors. Many Vaastu rules are derived from “Vaastu Purusha”
Q . What is the objective of Vastu science ?
A. Various types of energy fields are by nature in equilibrium around us. When we construct anything this equilibrium gets disturbed. The objective of Vastu is to restore the equilibrium and flow of these energies. This requires the proper knowledge of all the eight directions. It is a common knowledge that the direction from where the Sun arises is known as East (Poorva) and where it sets as West (Paschim) and when one faces the East direction, towards one’s left is North (Uttara) and towards one’s right is South (Dakshina). Q . What is Vastu purush?
A “Vastu” bagwan or Vastu purush (Lord of all buildings) is depicted as a man lying with his head pointing towards northeast in a grid of 64 squares. The different directions and sectors are assigned to different Gods and guardians. There are eight directions, given to eight lords in Hindu Vedas since the waves flowing in a particular direction have a specific influence. Hence Vastu is art of assigning functions to the directions so as to enhance the outcome of each action.
Hindus call the ‘HOUSE’ as a “LAKSHMI DWELLING HOUSE” and ‘ASTA LAKSHMI’, means getting wealth from eight directions of our dwelling place.
Vastu purush derives power through Pancha Bootas the natural energies of Cosmos EARTH, WATER, FIRE, AIR and SPACE These five GIANT ENERGIES of NATURE are the tools of Vastu Bagwan. These five elements controls the eight directions of any particular place.

Like-
– Eeshan or north east is presided over by God and is therefore suitable for a prayer room.
– The southeast belongs to Agni. The central space is Brahma’s and should be left open to the heavens.
The head and limbs of the Vastu Purusha are to be left alone too.
Q . Why is homam done before laying foundation stone?
A. According to matsya puran-Long long ago Lord Shiva fought against the demon named ANDHAKA and killed him. While fighting with demon, Shiva was very much tired and began to sweat profusely. In the Treta Yuga a very cruel man was born of the drops of Shiva’s sweat. He was very hungry. So he began to make penance to appease Lord Shiva and get a boon from him. Shiva was pleased with his penance and appeared before him. The devotee prayed to Shiva,” Oh Lord! Please permit me to eat away all the three worlds.” Shiva said,” Let it be so.” The devotee’s joy knew no bounds.
He got possession on all the three worlds and first he was ready to eat the terrestrial world (Bhooloka). Devatas were afraid of this great bodied man and approached the creator’ Brahma, Brahma advised the devatas to keep that man in a reversal order That man, being arrested like this approached Brahma and sought his help. Listening to those words, the celestial being said that you lie down here on the ground changing your position once in three months, i.e. from ‘Bhadraspada’ to ‘kartik’ you lie down putting your head in the eastern direction and your feet towards the west.
Whatever side you may turn, you will have to lie down on the left side only. You will be known as ‘VASTU PURUSHA’. You will tease the people, to your heart’s content, who construct buildings and temples, dig wells and tanks on the side towards which you see and in the direction towards which you hold your feet. You may trouble and even devour those people who construct the aforesaid buildings and temples etc. in the direction where you lay your head and back and those who lay foundation-stone without worshiping you or without satisfying you with “Homa” and the like. Then the Vastu-Purusha was quite satisfied. Since then the worship of Vastu-Purusha has been in vogue and ithas become compulsory for those who want to construct any kind of building.
Forty-five celestial beings, out of whom 32 from without and 13 from within caught hold of him.

Q . Where is Vaastu purush present ?
A. Vastu Purush is present in each and every plot whether it is big or small. He has a fixed and peculiar body. His head remains hanging down and his body is spread all over the length and breadth of the ground. One should not start digging in the direction where Vastu Purush’s head lies in that particular month.
Q . Does Vastu shastra bring happiness, peace, prosperity, health and wealth?
A. Yes. It definitely does. By creating an ambiance of harmony, balance and tranquility with nature it helps in achieving our aspirations like happiness peace prosperity health and wealth
Q . How long does it take Vastu remedy to show results?
A. Depending on various factors including intensity of Vastu defect results vary if Vastu principles are correctly applied results are seen within 21 to 45 days. It surely gives good results. At times it may take up to 4-6 months too. Outcomes is good.
Q . If my place is wrong according to Vastu ,do I need to change it ?
A.No.In most of the cases Vastu corrections like shifting rooms or changing the activities in the present room etc and by using energy enhancers like colour schemes etc helps.
